Junior Great Ireland Run

Sunday 10 April 2011

Phoenix Park, Dublin

  • A 2.5km run for 8-15 year olds in the Phoenix Park
  • Run for your province
  • Run for Barretstown or Temple Street and have serious fun!

Don't miss out on this year's Junior Great Ireland Run – a 2.5km race for youngsters of all abilities aged from 8 to 15.

Represent your Province or just run for yourself in what’s sure to be another cracking event.

In 2008 hundreds of children took part with RTE's The Den filming competitors as they battled it out to see which Province in Ireland had the fastest and fittest junior runners.

The event is open to anyone and not just those of you who run for your school or local club.

The Junior race is followed by the SPAR Great Ireland Run, which is open to anyone aged over 15 – so why not make it a family day out? To Find out more visit the main SPAR Great Ireland Run pages.

Barretstown is a specially designed camp, providing a programme of adventure, activities and fun – backed by the medical world – which helps children with serious illness regain their confidence and self-esteem.

Our aim at Temple Street Childrens University Hospital is to help sick children from all over Ireland by making their stay in hospital less distressing for them and their families, by funding the purchase of medical equipment, developing new services, funding research and developing new treatment facilities.
